Easy and quick candy or dessert.
Ingredients
Saltine or club crackers (enough to line the bottom of a jelly roll pan)
1 Cup butter (2 sticks)
1 Cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 bag Milk or Dark Chocolate chips (11.5-12 oz bag)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a 15 x 10 x 1 inch jelly roll pan with foil. Lightly spray foil with a non-stick cooking spray.
- Place crackers, salty side up, in prepared pan.
- In a medium saucepan, bring butter and brown sugar to a boil then cook for 3 minutes,, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and stir in almond extract.
- Pour mixture over crackers (spread evenly) and bake for 5-6 minutes.
- Remove from oven, top with chocolate chips and spread evenly as chocolate begins to melt.
- Allow to cool completely (you can even put in refrigerator).
- Once cool, break into pieces and enjoy!
