Judi Beam’s Holly Cookies
Ingredients:
1 stick of margarine or butter
30 big marshmallows
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 Tablespoon green food coloring
3 Cups of cornflakes (cereal)
Red hots (those cinnamon-flavored red hard candies)
Directions:
• Melt the butter and marshmallows
• Add vanilla and green food coloring
• Stir until syrupy
• Fold in gently 3 cups of cornflakes
• Drop unto GREASED cookie sheet or wax paper covered cookie sheet(grease the wax paper)
• Drop unto greased surface and form into wreaths or mounds(easier and smaller)
• Add red hots unto green mounds immediately
• Chill in refrigerator until solid and firm
• Store in a covered container
Notes:
• I double the recipe. Doubled it makes 3 large cookie sheets. • It works best with 4 hands as someone needs to add the red hots for color immediately before the cornflake cookies set up hard. (Then
the red hots don’t stick!) YOU HAVE TO MOVE FAST!
