Hash brown Potato Casserole

Ingredients
Layer #1 Mix together
  • 2 lbs frozen hash browns (I usually add these last for easier mixing)
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 stick melted butter
  • 1 can cream of mushroom condensed soup
  • 1 Tablespoon garlic powder (less to taste if you wish)
  • salt to taste (soup has a lot of salt so I usually do not add salt)
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
Layer #2
  • Sprinkle 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese over top
Layer #3
  • Combine 2 cups Special K cereal and 1/2 cup melted butter.  Sprinkle over top.
Bake at 350  1 1/2 hours if potatoes are frozen, 1 hour if potatoes are thawed.
