Chicken Crescent Almondine

Chicken Crescent Almondine
A great way to use leftover Thanksgiving turkey

Ingredients:
3 cups cooked chicken or turkey
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 8 0z water chestnuts, sliced and drained
1 4 oz can mushrooms, sliced or fresh
2/3 C. mayo
1/2 C onion
1/2 C celery
1/2 C sour cream

Topping ingredients: 1 pkg. crescent rolls, 2/3 C shredded Swiss cheese, 1/2 C slivered almonds, and 2 to 4 T melted butter.

Instructions:
Combine the first group of ingredients in a large saucepan. Cook over med. heat until hot and bubbly.
Pour into 9 X 13 pan
Separate 1 8 oz tube of crescent rolls into 2 rectangles or now you can buy rectangles rather than rolls.
Place over hot mixture
Combine the cheese, almonds and butter
Spread over dough
Bake 350 for 20 to 25 min.
