Taffy Apple Salad

Sauce
In a small sauce pan add
  • 1 Tbl. flour
  • 1/2 c. vinegar. 
Add to above
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 2 Tbl. vinegar
  • 1 the juice from 1  8oz. can crushed pineapple in heavy syrup  ( save pineapple for later.)
Microwave sauce on high 4 -6 minutes until thick.  COOL completely.

Pour sauce over the following mixture and stir well
  • Reserved drained pineapple
  • 8 c. diced granny smith apples
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip
Place in shallow 9x13 glass dish and garnish with Heath toffee bits.  I like a shallow dish so each serving will have some of the toffee bits.
