Sour Cream Coffee Cake

I have had this recipe for over 52 years and my family loves this coffee cake. 
It is a winner! 


Mix together:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Add: 
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda

1 cup sour cream

Filling/Topping: 

Mix  together:
½ cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped walnuts

Cream butter; add sugar, eggs and vanilla.  Alternate flour mixture and sour cream to make batter.  Place ½ batter into well greased 9 x 13 pan.  Add 2/3s of the filling.  Pour remaining batter in pan and top with 1/3 of the topping. 

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
