AuGratin Potatoes with Ham

Ingredients
  • 6 cups potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 cups diced cooked ham
  • 1/2 cup  diced onion
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup +1 T. all-purpose flour
  • 4 1/2 cups milk
  • 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 t. salt (optional)
  • 1 t. pepper
Directions
  • Combine potatoes, ham, and onion ina greased casserole dish and set aside
  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; stir in flour until smooth.  Gradually add milk: stirring constantly until mixture thickens and bubbles.  Add cheese salt and pepper: stir until the cheese3 melts.  Pour over potaato mixture and stir until combined.
Bake
  •  350 degrees for 45 minutes or until fork tender and bubbly.
