Super Easy Frozen Pickles

 Submitted by June:  Why get out the canner when you can make this vintage recipe for frozen pickles.  You will LOVE them.  Keep refrigerated or even freeze some for those special holiday additions to the table.

Pickles

Ingredients:
7 cucumbers sliced to your taste.  I like medium-thick, but thinly sliced works well also.
3 onions thinly sliced
optional - 1  red and/or green bell pepper thinly sliced - just to add festive color
2 cups sugar
1 cup white vinegar
1 t. salt
1 T. celery seed
1/2 T. mustard seed
optional - 1 t. red pepper flakes for zesty pickles

Directions:
Pack tightly sliced cucumbers, onions, (bell peppers) into jars or plastic freezer containers
In another bowl mix the remaining ingredients thoroughly, until sugar is completely dissolved..
Pour liquid over the cucumber mixture.  Try to remove any air bubbles.
Cose containers and refrigerate or freeze.  SO YUMMY!!!  They make a nice little hostess gift.
